A view from Chapman's peak drive. This is the Sentinal of Hout Bay. Chapmans Peak Drive extends around the bay, gradually climbing in altitude and once you get to the other side of the bay you are way up top of these huge cliffs! Dungeons (big wave break) is to the left of the Sentinal. You can see the reef and rocks that support the heavy wave!

Weird tilt on this photo.. but I wanted to try and catch the size of these rocks and cliffs! That is a huge charter tour bus driving along the bends! This drive is called Chapman's Peak Drive and it was recently opened again. They had to do a lot of construction to clear away fallen rock and build retaining walls. The road is literally carved into the side of a mountain range right on the Atlantic!

Chances Taken
My hand still hurts!! Dang it! I 'over-did-it' today with my drumming. The drum itch was just too much! I must remain patient.. It has only been out of the cast for a week now. Patience Dave.
So.. The title of this post really has a lot of meaning to me. When I created this blog I was living in San Diego and was in a TOTALLY different place in my life. And now.... I've taken chances.. and here I am.. In Cape Town..
So much has happend and I have honestly changed so much. I would say mostly good things!! he he.
I want to write loads more but there are people on msn messenger trying to chat to me and I just posted pics. My attention span is growing weak. It is almost 1 am here and my hand still hurts. I wish it would just heal!!!!! When I hit the shift button and enter it totally hurts.. so.... please be patient and soon I will have posted more than pictures! I promise!
Love all of you

Last weekend Lorien and I drove 2 hours east to Hermanus. Her brother and the guys had a show there and we are their biggest supporters. It was fun hanging with the guys that nite. The next day Lorien and I hung around for the whale festival that was happening all week. If you look you'll see that Hermanus is a huge bay.. And the southern wright whale comes here to mate. I saw about 10 whales in the water all at one glance.. no joke! There are markets with tents set up everywhere and everything from music to food to african clothing and carvings. A travelers dream!
